Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Cut Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water systems, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, European nations and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets targeted the country's power systems, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.

Local officials said the metropolitan region endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and three other people were injured.

The assaults come after periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the country's energy grid, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

He said technical personnel and government agencies were preparing for additional strikes.
